Portsmouth has plenty of places with treadmills. It has exactly one gym built around the barbell. At Grizzly Weightlifting, class sizes stay small so a coach actually sees — and fixes — your technique every session.
- Coach-led training — every class and session is programmed and supervised, not improvised.
- USA Weightlifting Level 2 coaching — head coach Stan Babenko learned the sport from Olympians and Olympic champions.
- Real equipment — lifting platforms, calibrated bars and bumper plates, racks, and the space to use them.
- All levels welcome — beginners get patient technique work; experienced athletes get competition-grade coaching.
- Downtown Portsmouth location — minutes from Market Square, easy to reach from Kittery, Rye, Newington, Greenland, and New Castle.
